Our theatre company depends on the right anchor shackles. We mostly use anchor shackles to suspend piping for light rigging and many stage props.
For a typical threaded rod assembly one needs the following pieces in order. A pipe clamp, a turnbuckle, a threaded rod, then a coupling nut then finally comes the anchor shackle to hold everything together.
For months we have been doing the shakespeare play The Man of La Mancha. And you know the part in the house then by the water. Well we have an entire house in the upper deck suspended by a few anchor shackles and aircraft cable. The anchor shackles are so strong they will bind anything suspended together without worry as long as you fasten the anchor chain properly.
