Wire rope clips are essential for anyone who uses wire rope whether it be the stage lighting industry, rigging industry, or the marine industry. Wire rope clips are used to terminate the wire rope on one side. You do this by taking the wire rope and bending it gently around an thimble. The thimble is for the wire rope so it stays correct. There are improper ways and proper ways to use wire rope clips. The proper way to use wire rope clips is to apply them in all the same direction. This way the weight falls evenly and is distribued throughout the load evenly. To correctly finish the process one would then appy a total of anywhere from two to twelve wire rope clips onto the wire rope.The first one starts from the furthest away tightening it then adding the next and then the next. Wire rope clips come usually in three varieties such as malleaball, drop forged, and stainless steel. Out of these three drop forged would be able to hold the most weight. Wire rope clips actually look like a huge U-Bolt with an added piece attached to the bolt to actually make the shape of a circle but with the sides puched in.
