Never go out fishing without proper marine equipment

I love fishing. There is nothing I enjoy more than going out on a fishing trip with some good friends for the day and relaxing in the boat. We don’t even have to catch anything.
One day though, the fishing was quite slow and all of us were getting pretty tired. It happened that we all fell asleep at relatively the same time on the boat. Well, I’ve been using the same anchor for about 20 years with a hemp rope to hold it. That day, the rope rotted and broke. We ended up getting stranded far from shore with no clue what direction home was.
Since then, I’ve bought a new wire rope used for aircraft cable. And, I got a anchor chain for a backup anchor. I’m no longer taking any chances and taking the proper marine equipment with me at all times.
